Applied AI Lead Developer

Location: Full-time onsite at the hirify.global Chesapeake, Virginia Store Support Center. Relocation support is available for candidates outside the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Salary: $132,000–$160,000 per year, plus a 20% annual bonus opportunity and other incentives.

What you will do

• Translate business requirements into iterative AI solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop agentic AI applications with multi-agent workflows, tool integration, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints.
• Build and operate retrieval-augmented generation solutions using enterprise data, ingestion pipelines, embeddings, and vector search.
• Deploy production AI agents and establish MLOps and CI/CD practices including evaluation, monitoring, cost controls, versioning, and rollback procedures.
• Implement security and governance controls such as prompt-injection defense, PII handling, content safety, access controls, and audit logging.
• Lead and mentor developers while defining integration patterns, APIs, data contracts, operational runbooks, and support processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive IT experience in large, cross-functional teams or projects, preferably in retail.
• 2+ years of experience developing AI solutions in a leading role.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, generative AI, LLMs, and agentic frameworks.
• Experience with retail, supply chain, or large-scale operational systems such as POS, ERP, CRM, inventory, and supply chain platforms.
• Fully onsite work and US work authorization without current or future visa sponsorship are required.
