Senior Software Engineer (Python)

Salary: $95,000–$152,500 annually

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable RESTful APIs using Python and related frameworks.
• Deliver backend services throughout the full software development lifecycle, from technical design through maintenance and deprecation.
• Build solutions involving microservices, AWS cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments.
• Implement API security using OAuth, JWT, SSO, token management, authentication, authorization, and access controls.
• Support message queues, background task processing, relational and NoSQL databases, and system documentation.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, UX, Architecture, and other cross-functional partners in an Agile/SCRUM environment.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional server-side development experience with Python.
• Experience with Python frameworks such as Django, Fast, Flask, or equivalent, as well as Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience designing RESTful APIs and writing clean, maintainable, unit-tested code.
• Experience with AWS, microservices, CI/CD, Docker, DevOps principles, message queues, and background task processing.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, object-oriented programming, data structures, API security, and access control models.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in an Agile/SCRUM environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with GraphQL, Apache Kafka, and event-streaming architectures.
• JavaScript or TypeScript experience supporting backend or full-stack development.
• Experience in cybersecurity, secure coding, containerization, or virtualization tools such as Docker or Vagrant.
