Frontier Agentic AI Engineer (AI)

Location: Based in Madrid, Spain; hybrid working model with remote and onsite days

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy production-grade agentic AI systems with multi-agent orchestration, memory, planning, tool use, and error recovery.
• Develop and fine-tune small and medium language models for regulated banking use cases, including evaluation frameworks and domain-specific benchmarks.
• Architect MCP servers, A2A protocols, and federated API layers across multi-country infrastructure.
• Prototype and validate new AI solutions in two-week sprints, from hypothesis and architecture through functional demo and documentation.
• Collaborate with researchers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to convert technical concepts into banking applications.
• Deliver clean, tested, observable code that can be transferred to production scaling teams.

Requirements

• 4–8 years of software or AI engineering experience, including at least 2 years building and maintaining production LLM systems.
• Hands-on experience designing and deploying complex multi-agent systems and fine-tuning language models using approaches such as SFT, LoRA, or RLHF.
• Advanced Python skills and experience with LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or Semantic Kernel.
• Experience with Anthropic Claude API, OpenAI, open-source models, AWS AI infrastructure, REST APIs, and FastAPI or equivalent.
• Experience with model evaluation and observability, Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish is required. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant technical field is also required.

Nice to have

• Banking, fintech, or other regulated-industry experience.
• MCP server implementation, SLM fine-tuning pipelines, knowledge graphs, or GraphRAG.
• A2A, x402, or AP2 protocols; Kubernetes or Terraform.
• Experience with Harness Engineering methodologies and AI-assisted software creation.
