Lead Launch Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Manage integration of satellite payloads with launch vehicles, including propulsion loading and separation systems.
• Define mission requirements, interfaces, and integration schedules with launch providers.
• Develop launch plans, procedures, readiness reviews, and companywide launch integration processes.
• Oversee satellite transportation, handling, pre-launch processing, system checkouts, and countdown operations.
• Lead environmental testing and verify mechanical, electrical, and environmental compatibility between satellites and launch vehicles.
• Provide real-time technical support, resolve launch anomalies, interface with regulatory agencies, and mentor the launch engineering team.

Requirements

• U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in spacecraft or launch vehicle integration, mission integration, or launch operations.
• Experience working with launch vehicle providers and owning launch campaigns.
• Hands-on experience with satellite testing, integration, and environmental qualification.
• Experience managing complex projects with multiple interdependent tasks.

Nice to have

• Leadership experience in satellite manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or high-tech.
• Experience mentoring or directing an engineering team.
• Familiarity with AFSPCMAN 91-710 submittal processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office productivity tools.
