Senior Staff Electrical Engineer - RPU Unit Lead (Aerospace)

Location: Westminster, Colorado, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or otherwise eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations for space technology export regulations.

What you will do

• Lead the technical definition and end-to-end engineering execution of a new Reconfigurable Processing Unit product.
• Direct architecture, design, prototyping, integration, testing, environmental qualification, and flight-readiness activities.
• Coordinate RF, digital, power, mechanical, thermal, software, and systems engineers throughout product development.
• Develop payload control schemes, internal data interfaces, command and telemetry architecture, and firmware/software integration.
• Manage flight qualification, including thermal-vacuum, vibration, shock, EMC, margin assessment, and acceptance testing.
• Drive production transition, technical documentation, risk mitigation, anomaly resolution, and communication with customers and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 12 years of engineering experience in electronics hardware development.
• Hands-on experience with technologies such as software-defined radios.
• Experience leading or mentoring multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering, requirements flowdown, verification and validation, and configuration management.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with payload control systems, digital interfaces, command and data handling, and embedded hardware/software interactions.
• Experience executing or overseeing flight qualification and environmental test campaigns, including TVAC, vibration/shock, EMC, and radiation considerations.
• Experience with radiation-tolerant design, high-rate manufacturing, rapid development cycles, or NewSpace ecosystems.
• Prior experience as a Responsible Engineer, Technical Lead, IPT Lead, or Chief Engineer for flight hardware.
• Background in digital signal processing, beamforming algorithms, or embedded firmware for payload control.
