AI Engineer

Location: Hybrid work in San Francisco, New York City, or Seattle, United States

Base compensation: $220,000–$259,000 in San Francisco and New York City; $198,000–$233,000 in other US locations. Equity is offered.

Writer provides an end-to-end enterprise generative AI platform for building and deploying AI agents grounded in company data and powered by enterprise-grade large language models.

What you will do

• Architect, develop, and deploy high-performance AI applications in production.
• Build intelligent agents and AI-powered features for enterprise customers.
• Integrate AI applications with the end-to-end platform and ensure scalability.
• Collaborate with research scientists, data scientists, and product managers on technical requirements and product delivery.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and tools.
• Implement responsible AI practices, including bias detection, explainability, and safety alignment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience building and deploying machine learning or AI systems in production.
• Strong Python skills and experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Knowledge of machine learning, deep learning architectures, natural language processing, and large language models.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and MLOps tools for managing the AI lifecycle.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-tested code for scalable software systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
