Senior Platform Engineer (IBM i)

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise infrastructure solutions focused on the IBM i platform.
• Gather and document business and technical requirements and develop scalable, secure infrastructure plans.
• Evaluate current environments, define future-state architectures, and create implementation plans for modernization.
• Monitor performance, capacity, and operational risks while troubleshooting complex infrastructure, operating system, hardware, software, and application issues.
• Configure operating environments, installations, updates, security controls, testing, and validation activities.
• Coordinate with vendors, provide technical guidance and training, and participate in on-call incident support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong experience managing and troubleshooting infrastructure on the IBM i platform.
• Ability to diagnose technical problems, evaluate requirements, and develop technical plans.
• Experience designing, executing, and documenting system and service tests.
• Ability to conduct gap analyses, support change strategies, document current and future architectures, and analyze data for decision-making.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Professional certifications in IBM i, cloud platforms, systems administration, cybersecurity, or infrastructure technologies.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers or providing technical leadership.
