Backend Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid working model with 60% remote per week; the exact arrangement is determined by each team. Relocation assistance is available subject to prior agreement.

hirify.global Payments builds financial transaction technologies for hirify.global’s fashion store and consumer-facing applications, covering checkout, payment processing, reconciliation, and risk steering.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and operate core payment APIs and production services.
• Build scalable solutions for secure checkout, deferred payment options, and other payment products.
• Develop services that interface with merchant systems and support payment processing and reconciliation.
• Design technical solutions within a microservices architecture and own the application lifecycle.
• Contribute to continuous integration, code reviews, code quality, and test-driven development.
• Share technical knowledge and contribute to team-level technology decisions.

Requirements

• Degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience as an IT specialist.
• Experience building and ideally operating production services, preferably in e-commerce or payments.
• Familiarity with the Java ecosystem and frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Understanding of microservice architecture, REST services, and asynchronous distributed systems.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with colleagues within and beyond the team and to learn new technologies and practices.
