Senior Kotlin / Java Software Engineer - Trading Platform (Fintech)

Location: Berlin, Germany. International relocation support is available, and the role includes an opportunity to work from abroad.

What you will do

• Build and operate the Trading Platform in a cross-functional team.
• Design, develop, and evolve services supporting order intake, validation, execution, status updates, and post-trade processing.
• Develop scalable and observable backend services with Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot in a distributed, event-driven environment.
• Build integrations with internal platforms and external trading venues for reliable processing of time-sensitive financial data.
• Contribute across architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Improve platform reliability, automation, observability, developer experience, and operational processes.

Requirements

• University degree in computer science, engineering, or a comparable qualification.
• Strong professional experience building production backend services with Kotlin or Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and operating distributed, event-driven, highly available systems with clear API and service boundaries.
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design and complex business workflow modelling.
• Experience with latency-sensitive, high-throughput systems, performance analysis, monitoring, capacity planning, and failure-mode design.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, cloud-native development, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability tooling.

• Experience with financial-market systems requiring strict operational controls and auditability.
