Staff Software Engineer (Consumer Wealth)

Location: Milan, Italy; hybrid with three days per week in-office (Tuesday, Thursday, and one additional day of choice). Extra remote time may be requested.

Salary: €64,000–€88,000 gross per annum.

What you will do

• Define the technical strategy for the Consumer Wealth domain and architect complex subsystems for savings and investment features.
• Design and build scalable, high-quality back-end systems for complex financial engineering problems.
• Manage and simplify complex back-end architectures and cloud environments.
• Drive technical alignment across teams, communicate the technical vision, and monitor emerging FinTech and wealth management technologies.
• Develop technical leaders and promote high-quality engineering and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to Consumer Wealth infrastructure using Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, and AWS.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of back-end software engineering experience in product-based companies.
• Proven experience architecting, building, and maintaining microservices and complex cloud environments.
• Deep Java expertise and strong understanding of cloud platforms; AWS experience is valued.
• Experience communicating technical strategy and building effective cross-organizational relationships.
• Ability to lead technical vision, generate intellectual property, and apply emerging technology trends.
• Fluent English required.
