Principal Software Engineer, High Value Send (Fintech)

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States; hybrid work with onsite attendance Tuesday through Thursday each week

What you will do

• Own technology strategy and architecture for the High Value Senders domain.
• Build new high-value transfer products and 0-to-1 customer experiences across web, mobile, and backend systems.
• Lead AI adoption through usage boundaries, evaluation methods, review standards, and delivery practices.
• Design scalable foundations and resolve architecture, ownership, dependency, latency, and performance challenges.
• Establish reliability, security, privacy, observability, testing, deployment, and maintenance standards for financial workflows.
• Mentor staff and senior engineers, lead design reviews, and align engineering, product, design, marketing, and analytics stakeholders.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including large-scale customer-facing distributed systems.
• Deep backend expertise in Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python, plus experience with TypeScript, React, or native mobile frameworks.
• Advanced distributed-systems, cloud infrastructure, architecture evolution, scaling, latency, data-quality, and dependency expertise.
• Experience setting domain-level technical strategy, leading system design reviews, and enabling autonomous teams.
• Experience establishing reliability, security, privacy, maintainability, and operational standards across teams.
• Hands-on AI use in software delivery, including validation, review standards, and measurement of delivery gains.

• Experience with cross-border payments, high-value transactions, or regulated financial services.
• Experience building wealth-related products, premium financial experiences, or complex high-confidence workflows.
• Experience with experimentation, customer acquisition, retention, or personalized products.
• Experience serving customers across markets with different payment methods, regulations, and expectations.
