Fullstack AI Engineer

Location: New York City, United States; on-site role.

Base salary: $200,000–$300,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Build and maintain the shared agent platform with Python, FastAPI, Restate, and Redis.
• Design APIs, PostgreSQL data models, and services for content creation, document processing, collaboration, and enterprise integrations.
• Develop reliable agent execution with failure recovery, cancellation, retries, isolated environments, tool access, and scoped customer context.
• Build React, Next.js, and TypeScript interfaces for streaming progress, tool activity, reconnectable sessions, and AI output review.
• Improve observability with Datadog, OpenTelemetry tracing, structured logs, metrics, and alerts.
• Own features from architecture through deployment, monitoring, evaluation, and production improvement in collaboration with product, design, Applied AI, and engineering.

Requirements

• Production experience building and operating Python services and well-designed FastAPI APIs.
• Strong systems fundamentals, including service contracts, data models, PostgreSQL, Redis, concurrency, transactions, idempotency, and failure recovery.
• Experience building AI applications or infrastructure, including tool calling, context management, agent sessions, and model-to-application boundaries.
• Ability to work across React, Next.js, and TypeScript while maintaining usability, accessibility, and performance.
• Experience with observability, testing, security, maintainability, and production issue investigation.
• Must work on-site in New York City; relocation assistance is available.

Nice to have

• Experience with Restate or Temporal, sandboxed agent execution, streaming systems, or AI evaluation tools.
• Healthcare or pharmaceutical industry experience.
