Senior Interior Design Specialist, Cabinetry & Home Renovation

Location: Columbus, Ohio — physical retail, in-store

Salary: $24.00 per hour fixed entry rate for new hires

What you will do

• Lead in-store, virtual, and in-home design consultations for furniture, cabinetry, and complete home renovation projects.
• Translate customer preferences, spatial requirements, budgets, and functional needs into cohesive design plans.
• Create 2D/3D room visualizations, mood boards, presentations, custom quotes, and product alternatives using design software and retail systems.
• Build customer relationships, manage leads and follow-ups, and close premium project-based sales.
• Use hirify.global’s extended digital catalog, proprietary tools, POS systems, and inventory platforms to support consultations.
• Support store operations, including replenishment, floor sets, returns, carry-outs, display maintenance, and team recovery.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of sales experience, ideally with higher-priced products or in a design-related retail environment.
• At least 1 year of experience in interior, architectural, or graphic design.
• Strong knowledge of color theory, spatial planning, textiles, styling, furniture, materials, and home applications.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, consultative selling, analytical, and spatial-thinking skills.
• Comfort using design tools, POS systems, inventory platforms, and software such as Salesforce.
• Ability to work on-site in Columbus, Ohio, with open availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays; regular standing and lifting up to 50 pounds are required.
