Industrial Designer

Location: Perry, Oklahoma, United States; onsite at the division headquarters

Salary: $59,300–$70,000 annual pay

A manufacturing division focused on developing underground pipe and cable construction machinery and related industrial equipment.

What you will do

• Develop machine appearance, color schemes, operator-station layouts, and control and display configurations.
• Create concept sketches, drawings, renderings, solid models, and detailed design documentation.
• Construct and evaluate scale and full-size mock-ups, physical models, and prototypes.
• Analyze product specifications and performance requirements to balance functionality, cost, performance, and ease of manufacture.
• Review designs for compliance with engineering practices, company and industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
• Collaborate with product engineering and product marketing while managing multiple priorities and complex design issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, engineering, graphic arts, or drafting.
• Ability to construct full-scale mock-ups using materials such as wood, cardboard, foam, and in-system parts.
• Strong visual communication skills, including hand and computer-generated sketches, renderings, and drawings.
• Strong interest in the design and use of mobile equipment.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Regular computer use and ability to work in office, shop, outdoor, and construction-site environments with physical hazards and hazardous materials.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of 3D CAD software such as Creo, Solid Edge, or SOLIDWORKS.
• Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, KeyShot, or Alias.
