TL;DR
Avionics Harness Technician (Aerospace): Building, integrating, inspecting, and testing avionics harnesses, cable assemblies, and electro-mechanical hardware for long-range hypersonic strike vehicles with an accent on hands-on fabrication, connector assembly, and electrical testing. Focus on crimping, soldering, harness routing, HiPot testing, controlled documentation, and supporting prototype-to-production transitions.

Location: Onsite at the Torrance, California facility, United States. Extended hours and weekends may be required, with travel up to 20%.

What you will do

  • Build wire harnesses, cable assemblies, electro-mechanical units, and test equipment.
  • Prepare wires and perform stripping, crimping, soldering, shielding, splicing, labeling, lacing, and connector assembly.
  • Assemble, integrate, and test avionics harnesses, electrical hardware, and support equipment.
  • Perform continuity, insulation resistance, and high-potential testing.
  • Execute manufacturing and test processes using work instructions, drawings, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
  • Support development and prototype builds, initial production transition, issue escalation, process improvement, and production priorities.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of avionics technician, harness assembly, electronics manufacturing, or related hands-on assembly experience.
  • Experience building wire harnesses and cable assemblies, including crimping, soldering, connector assembly, and harness routing.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness drawings, assembly drawings, and controlled documentation.
  • Experience with continuity, insulation resistance, and HiPot testing.
  • Experience working to IPC/WHMA-A-620 or equivalent workmanship standards and in an ESD-controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Access to export-controlled information may require U.S. Government security clearance, government authorization, citizenship, or other eligibility requirements if applicable.

Nice to have

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience with flight or prototype harnesses, shield termination, backshell assembly, splicing, lacing, strain relief, or Cirris test equipment.
  • Familiarity with configuration-controlled manufacturing documentation, Atlassian tools, and electronic troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting engineering development builds and rapid hardware iteration.
