Electrical Design Engineer - Power & Controls (Semiconductor)

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of electrical parts, modules, and subsystems for integrated measurement systems.
• Own the design lifecycle from requirements and feasibility studies through component selection, cost analysis, scheduling, and manufacturing handoff.
• Perform circuit, timing, thermal, cooling, and electrical load-balancing analyses for 120–480 VAC single-phase, three-phase, and low-voltage DC distribution systems.
• Program Siemens or Allen-Bradley PLCs and integrate control and safety-interlock systems.
• Create conceptual and detailed designs, drawings, bills of materials, test procedures, and fixtures using AutoCAD and Creo.
• Lead design reviews, procure prototype parts, conduct testing, support system integration, and resolve supplier and manufacturing issues.

Requirements

• Master's degree with no related experience, or bachelor's degree with at least two years of related experience.
• Experience in electrical system integration, AC power delivery, electromechanical systems, and communication systems.
• Experience with system-level integration, validation, laboratory testing, troubleshooting, and performance characterization.
• Knowledge of wiring and schematic diagrams, drafting practices, and applicable NEC, NFPA 79, IPC, SEMI, and IEC standards.
• Ability to collaborate across electrical, mechanical, software, systems, and manufacturing disciplines.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.

Nice to have

• Semiconductor industry experience.
• Familiarity with CAN bus, DeviceNet, Ethernet, EtherCAT, or Modbus.
• Experience with Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley Logix, or equivalent PLC software.
• Ownership mentality, leadership capability, and strong written and verbal communication.
