Principal DevOps Engineer (Continuous Delivery)

Location: Remote work is available only from the USA and the following states: CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, MA, MD, ME, NJ, NC, NY, OH, OR, TN, TX, VA, and WA. Hybrid work is available from offices in Austin, Texas, or Tampa, Florida. Chicago city limits are excluded. Onsite interviews may be required.

Base salary: $200,000–$260,000 per year for roles based in California, Colorado, Maryland, New Jersey, Washington, or New York.

What you will do

• Design, build, and own continuous delivery pipelines from artifact promotion through progressive production rollout and rollback.
• Develop reusable deployment automation and release orchestration across services, environments, regions, and deployment models.
• Implement canary, blue/green, rolling, percentage-based, regional, and tenant-based delivery strategies with automated health checks and release gates.
• Integrate feature flagging, automated testing, security checks, quality gates, observability, and production telemetry into deployment workflows.
• Partner with Cloud Platform, SRE, Infrastructure, Security, QA, and Architecture teams to improve deployment reliability and resolve complex production incidents.
• Set technical standards for release engineering, lead complex initiatives, and mentor senior and staff engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps, release engineering, platform engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience designing and operating continuous delivery and deployment automation platforms at scale, including artifact promotion, validation, and rollback.
• Strong experience with progressive delivery, feature flagging, CI/CD platforms, reusable pipelines, and enterprise platform modernization.
• Strong programming and scripting skills in Go, Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Experience with AWS, Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform, containers, Kubernetes or ECS, Helm or Kustomize, GitOps, and multi-region deployments.
• Candidates must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with hirify.global's technology stack: Java, Kotlin, C++, Golang, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
• Knowledge of large-scale datastore bottlenecks, asynchronous application design, and client-server architecture.
