Software Engineer, Ecosystem (Fintech): Building ecosystem platforms, public APIs, SDKs, webhooks, and UI-extension frameworks that connect Airwallex with financial institutions and third-party business software with an accent on extensibility, developer experience, security, and scalable architecture. Focus on designing marketplace and extension-framework architecture, establishing observability standards, and creating documentation, sandboxes, and tooling for external developers.

What you will do
- Design the platform architecture and long-term technical roadmap for the App Marketplace or Extension Framework.
- Build SDKs, webhooks, and UI-extension patterns that enable third-party developers to embed functionality into the platform.
- Develop and maintain APIs and integrations with financial institutions and accounting, HR, ERP, and marketplace platforms.
- Establish coding standards, observability patterns, and security protocols.
- Build documentation infrastructure, sandboxes, and developer tooling to improve the external developer experience.
- Collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, designers, and go-to-market teams on the technical roadmap and new features.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience developing internet applications, large financial systems, or e-commerce platforms.
- Proficiency in one or more coding or scripting languages, such as Java, Kotlin, C++, or Python.
- Deep familiarity with the standard library, idiomatic usage, and best practices of a primary programming language.
- Direct experience building or maintaining a public-facing developer platform, app marketplace, or extension framework.
Nice to have
- Expertise in Domain-Driven Design for managing complex business logic and microservice boundaries.
- Experience with cloud-native technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and advanced observability tools.
- Experience integrating AI or LLM models into integration workflows or developer tooling.
