Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in North America, Washington, DC; alignment to US-Eastern hours

What you will do

• Deploy, integrate, and operate the platform in customer cloud and air-gapped environments.
• Work directly with mission users to translate operational needs into integrations, data pipelines, prototypes, and production software.
• Deliver across application code, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, databases, and data flows.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues in constrained environments with limited tooling and external support.
• Serve as the technical bridge between customers and TRM product and engineering teams.
• Document incidents, maintain project visibility, and transfer field knowledge back to internal and customer stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong programming ability in Python and/or Node.js/TypeScript.
• Applied AI fluency, including practical use of coding agents and LLM tooling.
• Hands-on experience deploying and debugging Kubernetes workloads.
• Production AWS experience building and operating environments.
• Working fluency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including schema design, query tuning, and safe data movement.
• Strong written and verbal communication, adaptability, and evidence of delivering outside a primary specialty.

Nice to have

• Terraform and GitOps with Argo CD.
• Large-scale data engineering, orchestration, streaming, or columnar analytics stores.
• Distributed systems design and debugging.
• Machine learning or agentic systems experience.
• Deep Linux/Unix and networking experience in restricted or disconnected environments, or prior delivery in classified or regulated government environments.
