Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: North America; Washington, D.C. Hybrid, with alignment to US Eastern hours

What you will do

• Deploy, integrate, and operate the TRM platform in customer environments, including cloud and air-gapped systems.
• Work directly with mission users to translate operational needs into integrations, data pipelines, prototypes, and working software.
• Deliver across application code, Kubernetes workloads, cloud infrastructure, databases, and data flows.
• Diagnose and resolve critical issues in constrained environments with limited tooling and outside support.
• Act as the technical bridge between national-security customers and TRM product and engineering teams.
• Document incidents and solutions, run retrospectives, and transfer mission knowledge back to internal and customer stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong programming ability in Python and/or Node.js/TypeScript, with practical fluency using AI, coding agents, and LLM tooling.
• Hands-on experience deploying, debugging, and reasoning about production Kubernetes workloads.
• Production AWS experience building and operating environments.
• Working fluency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including schema design, query tuning, and safe data movement.
• Demonstrated range across engineering specialties and the ability to learn new languages, datastores, or platforms as needed.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication, including regular direct interaction with customers.

Nice to have

• Terraform, Argo CD, data engineering at scale, distributed systems, machine learning or agentic systems.
• Deep Linux/Unix and networking experience, especially in restricted or disconnected environments.
• Prior delivery in classified or otherwise regulated government environments.
