Charge Off Specialist (Fintech)

Location: Mesa, Arizona, United States; onsite office position

What you will do

• Handle high-volume inbound calls for charge-off account servicing, payment plans, settlements, and account-status education.
• Make outbound calls to collect payments, establish new payment plans, and negotiate settlements.
• Monitor delayed worklists and request repossession assignments when customers default on payment plans.
• Maintain accurate account documentation and customer correspondence.
• Submit administrative requests and inquiries to internal departments through email and ticketing systems.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
• At least 2 years of experience in loss mitigation, collections, or financial services; an associate or bachelor's degree in business or a related field may substitute for experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Knowledge of collection policies and procedures, skip tracing, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and applicable state repossession law.
• Strong negotiation, conflict-management, communication, organization, decision-making, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to remain stationary for at least 75% of the time and operate office equipment; occasional lifting of objects up to 20 pounds may be required.
