Regional Buyer II (Grocery)

Location: Onsite 5 days a week in Landover, Maryland, United States

Base salary: $71,000–$84,000 per year, plus potential discretionary bonus, incentives, and benefits.

hirify.global is a US ethnic e-grocery company partnering with local suppliers to provide affordable access to ethnic food across the United States.

What you will do

• Source seasonal and year-round regional grocery products using customer preferences, market trends, and competitor analysis.
• Build vendor partnerships, negotiate pricing and commercial terms, and monitor supplier performance through scorecards.
• Plan purchase orders, replenishment, promotional inventory flow, and assortment needs based on sales history, forecasts, lead times, and supply constraints.
• Partner with Warehouse on product inspection, quality assurance, cold-storage standards, spoilage reduction, and defect prevention.
• Collaborate with Customer Service, Central Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain to resolve inventory, quality, and customer issues.
• Track revenue, margin, availability, inventory projections, and other KPIs, presenting reports and improvement opportunities to senior leadership.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in grocery or perishables buying, including vendor negotiation.
• Knowledge of product quality standards and supply chain dynamics.
• Hands-on experience with vendor negotiation and inventory management.
• Strong Excel and procurement-tool skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems and relational databases.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Analytics, Supply Chain, Marketing, or a related field.
• Experience with Asian grocery categories.
• Experience in a multicultural or bilingual business environment, with fluency in Mandarin or Spanish.
• Food Safety Certification and familiarity with internal merchandising tools.
