Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist (Manufacturing)

Location: Elizabethtown, NC, United States; travel up to 20% to domestic and global suppliers.

Salary: $73,100–$135,700 per year, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Support the Global Commodity Manager in developing and executing global commodity strategies.
• Lead sourcing initiatives from opportunity identification and RFQ analysis through supplier selection, negotiation, implementation, and savings realization.
• Build productivity pipelines covering PPV, VAVE, should-cost analysis, competitive bidding, supplier consolidation, resourcing, and low-cost-region sourcing.
• Analyze spend, pricing, market conditions, supplier economics, capacity, lead times, and demand to identify savings and supply risks.
• Support supplier negotiations, performance management, alternate-source development, dual sourcing, recovery plans, and assurance-of-supply escalations.
• Prepare sourcing recommendations, business cases, total-cost models, dashboards, risk registers, and executive-ready presentations while coordinating cross-functional projects.

Requirements

• 5+ years of procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience executing sourcing strategies, supplier negotiations, PPV/VAVE initiatives, competitive sourcing events, and sourcing transitions.
• Strong commercial judgment, financial acumen, analytical problem-solving, negotiation, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems in manufacturing and the ability to analyze quotations, cost breakdowns, price variances, spend data, and supplier performance.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Experience with Oracle, JDE, SAP, Power BI, spend analytics, e-sourcing, or data visualization tools.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• MBA or ISM certification such as CPSM.
