Staff Software Engineer (Python)

Location: New York, NY, United States; onsite

Total compensation: $325,000–$500,000, including base salary, annual bonus incentive, and new-hire equity.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and deploy scalable applications and integrations for the enterprise identity platform.
• Own cross-functional projects from technical discovery and architecture through implementation, rollout, adoption, and operational support.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data, Security, and Operations to translate business problems into scalable technical solutions.
• Design for failure modes, system dependencies, degradation strategies, recovery paths, observability, alerting, and safe rollouts.
• Drive architectural improvements, reduce technical debt, and improve platform scalability, security, reliability, and maintainability.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering quality through code reviews, design reviews, technical collaboration, and constructive feedback.

Requirements

• 9+ years of professional software engineering experience building production applications.
• Strong experience with Python, React, and TypeScript; familiarity with Java is relevant to the technology stack.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and modern software architecture.
• Experience building and operating cloud-native applications with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience owning complex cross-functional projects from idea to production and influencing technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work onsite in New York, NY, United States.
