TL;DR
Product Development Engineer (Aerospace): Developing and integrating engine modules for Symphony and Superpower from concept and design through fabrication, assembly, and test with an accent on design for manufacturing, simplified interfaces, and hands-on hardware development. Focus on reducing part count, collaborating with in-house fabrication and suppliers, and testing successive hardware revisions in a high-consequence aerospace environment.

Location: Centennial, Colorado, United States; onsite hardware and test-stand work required

Salary: $107,000–$187,000 base annually, depending on level, experience, location, and performance.

Company

Develops Symphony, the engine for the Overture supersonic airliner, and Superpower, a natural gas turbine intended to support the company's aerospace and energy initiatives.

What you will do

  • Own a turbomachinery, mechanical systems, or structures and integration module from requirements through design, fabrication, assembly, and testing.
  • Make design decisions that reduce part count, simplify assembly, and shorten the path from drawings to hardware.
  • Work directly with the in-house shop and external suppliers to produce parts quickly, correctly, and within budget.
  • Integrate hardware onto test stands, observe test results, identify failures, and implement successive design revisions.
  • Collaborate across design, manufacturing, supply chain, analysis, and test functions.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Practical design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly judgment.
  • Hands-on experience turning designs into physical hardware, preferably in aerospace, automotive, defense, energy, motorsports, robotics, or another high-consequence environment.
  • Track record of making products simpler, cheaper, and faster to build.
  • Must meet U.S. ITAR and EAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hands-on engineering culture with direct involvement on the shop floor and test stands.
  • Close collaboration with machinists, analysts, suppliers, and manufacturing teams.
  • Flexible paid time off policy.
  • Potential long-term incentives, equity, and other employee benefits.
  • Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis while the search remains active.
