Manufacturing Engineer 1 (Aerospace Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Blacksburg, Virginia, United States

Salary: $65,000–$80,000 annually

What you will do

• Support motors production lines and outsourced manufacturing vendors.
• Develop manufacturing processes, tooling, engineering drawings, work instructions, labor standards, facility layouts, and quotes.
• Review requests for quotes and participate in mechanical and electrical manufacturing design reviews.
• Recommend improvements for manufacturability and drive continuous improvement activities.
• Provide performance and expenditure reports to management and support technical exchanges with suppliers.
• Travel domestically and internationally and support cross-training in other operational areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a bachelor’s degree with relevant manufacturing experience.
• Alternatively, an associate degree with three years of related manufacturing experience.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Experience communicating with internal and external customers, coworkers, and other business disciplines.
• Ability to work onsite in Blacksburg, Virginia.
• Ability to handle confidential information and follow regulatory requirements, including ITAR.
