Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote (US)

Base salary: $180,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do

• Own and evolve end-to-end architecture across web, mobile, backend services, and data platforms.
• Design fault-tolerant distributed systems, high-performance REST and event-based APIs, and scalable SQL and NoSQL data models.
• Build and improve web applications with React and TypeScript and influence architecture for iOS, Android, and React Native applications.
• Drive AWS-native, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, incident response, and deployment safety practices.
• Lead cross-team technical initiatives, design reviews, RFCs, roadmap decisions, and adoption of shared engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers and promote AI-assisted development with responsible security, quality, and compliance guardrails.

Requirements

• Remote work must be based in the United States.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of full-stack production systems.
• Strong hands-on TypeScript experience across frontend and backend systems, including React and Node.js.
• Experience with mobile applications, RESTful and event-driven architectures, SQL, NoSQL, and distributed systems.
• Strong AWS experience, including Lambda, SQS, RDS, DynamoDB, EC2, IAM, and networking.
• Production experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, QA automation, DevOps, and technical leadership through influence.

Nice to have

• Healthcare, fintech, or other regulated-domain experience.
• HIPAA compliance, PHI security, and privacy-first design experience.
• Experience with Retool, Redshift, design systems, shared UI libraries, or globally distributed teams.
