Technical Sourcer

Location: San Francisco Bay Area or remote within the United States; US-based only

Salary: $132,000–$149,000 annual base salary for the temporary full-time position, plus benefits

What you will do

• Partner with engineering leaders and hiring managers to understand technical requirements, team dynamics, and target candidate profiles.
• Conduct total addressable market research, size talent pools, assess hiring feasibility, and inform hiring timelines.
• Develop job-mapping strategies by analyzing competitor organizations, technical stacks, and target accounts.
• Build customized sourcing strategies using Boolean search, X-ray techniques, GitHub sourcing, and competitive intelligence.
• Create personalized outreach campaigns and manage candidate experience through recruiter handoff.
• Represent Discord at technical conferences, meetups, and industry events while tracking pipeline health and sourcing effectiveness.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in technical sourcing or recruitment, preferably in a high-growth technology environment.
• Experience sourcing senior, staff, and principal engineers, as well as engineering managers, in competitive talent markets.
• Strong technical aptitude for understanding complex engineering roles and translating requirements into sourcing criteria.
• Expertise in Boolean search, X-ray search, GitHub or repository mining, conference and publication tracking, and creative talent identification.
• Experience with SeekOut, Gem, LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, Greenhouse, and AI sourcing tools.
• Strong stakeholder management, pipeline prioritization, market mapping, and sourcing-metrics analysis skills.
