Software Engineering Group Manager (Site Reliability)

Location: United States technology offices in Dallas, TX; Strongsville, OH; Columbus, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; Phoenix, AZ; Birmingham, AL; or Houston, TX. Weekly time in the office is required.

Base salary: $146,300–$271,700 per year, plus incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Manage multiple development projects, development groups, and application support functions for a major business segment.
• Lead production support and act as an escalation point for complex incidents across applications, Linux and Windows infrastructure, Oracle and SQL databases, middleware, and integrations.
• Oversee log, metric, and system analysis together with batch and ETL monitoring and recovery processes.
• Drive reliability improvements through proactive incident prevention, monitoring, observability, automation, and reduction of operational toil.
• Coordinate application, infrastructure, security, engineering, and vendor teams while maintaining implementation quality and client relationships.
• Participate in an on-call leadership rotation, including evenings, weekends, holidays, major incidents, change events, and business continuity support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or a comparable combination of education, certifications, and experience.
• Typically 8+ years of industry-relevant experience and at least 5 years of prior management experience.
• Proven leadership experience with moderate to large scope of responsibility.
• Knowledge of application delivery, object-oriented and client/server development, application development tools, IT environments, and software process improvement.
• Ability to work weekly from one of the listed hirify.global technology offices in the United States.
• Employment visa sponsorship and STEM OPT participation are not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with application development, business management, customer solutions, design, group problem solving, process improvement, release management, software solutions, or UX design.
• Master's degree, PhD, or relevant certifications.
