Site Reliability Engineer I (GCP)

Location: New York, 300 Vesey Street; hybrid schedule with 2 days on site in the NYC office. Working week: Sunday–Thursday, 9:00–17:00 EST.

Salary: $84,900–$141,500 per year, plus annual target bonus and equity opportunity.

What you will do

• Build observability, monitoring, and alerting for key markets services.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to plan and implement changes safely.
• Participate in on-call rotations and assist with incident response under senior engineer guidance.
• Write scripts and tools to reduce operational toil and improve engineering velocity.
• Contribute to disaster recovery and systems resiliency testing and improvements.
• Support the migration of markets applications to Google Cloud Platform and improve system performance.

Requirements

• Strong interest in site reliability engineering.
• Experience with Linux-based systems.
• Basic programming or scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced trading environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, GCE, or GKE.
• Experience with metrics, monitoring, OpenTelemetry, Splunk, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, Kubernetes, networking, message-oriented middleware, financial markets, or agile development.
