Junior Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Location: Eglin AFB, Florida, United States; onsite support required as needed

What you will do

• Develop AFSIM models, scenarios, and capabilities for an AFRL mission.
• Work closely with customers, software engineers, and analysts to explore and develop technical solutions.
• Perform software testing and verification using modern Agile development practices.
• Provide onsite support for customers as needed.
• Contribute to a fast-paced, high-profile development effort.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least one year of development experience with C++, C#, Python, or Java.
• At least one year of software development or modeling, simulation, and analysis experience.
• Experience with source control and CI/CD tools such as Git, Bitbucket, GitLab, Jenkins, or GitLab Runners.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience with Agile development processes and modeling and simulation tools such as AFSIM, NGTS, and ITASE.
• Experience with virtual machine and container management platforms such as WSL2 and Docker.
• Experience applying object-oriented design patterns and using development environments such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, or PyCharm.
• Familiarity with DoD security practices.
