Machine Learning Engineer - Financials (AI)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; hybrid Flex Work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, or partners.

Annual base salary: CAD 128,000–192,000, with potential eligibility for a bonus plan, role-specific commission or bonus, and annual refresh stock grants.

What you will do

• Explore, design, implement, deploy, evaluate, and scale machine learning features.
• Build intelligent user experiences using generative AI, large language models, natural language understanding, and information retrieval.
• Develop ML models, APIs, and production services across hirify.global’s ML infrastructure.
• Process business documents and automate critical customer workflows.
• Improve service observability and manage the full lifecycle of ML products and services.
• Serve as a technical role model for junior engineers and provide technical leadership.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and evaluating applied machine learning products at scale through research, design, implementation, and production.
• 5+ years of professional Python experience with numeric libraries and production code and model delivery.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• 5+ years of experience building information retrieval systems and scalable ML services on platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Experience with scikit-learn, Pandas, PySpark, PyTorch, TensorFlow, statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and natural language processing.
• 3+ years of experience with LLMs, RAG, and AI agents, plus a bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or PhD in engineering, data or computer science, physics, mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience with recommendation systems, autonomous agents, and orchestration frameworks.
