Photonics RLS Senior Engineer

What you will do

• Drive automation initiatives focused on efficiency, business cases, and continuous operational improvement.
• Lead RLS lifecycle-management topics at the Ottawa location and coordinate performance across global RLS LCM sites.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain test automation software, test sequences, and test instructions.
• Lead Design for Testability reviews and provide technical guidance throughout the R&D lifecycle.
• Partner with NPI, LCM, Repair, and contract-manufacturing teams during prototype builds and validation of alpha and beta platforms.
• Optimize test methods and integrate test stations with manufacturing process flows, databases, and automation interfaces.

Requirements

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Security, Computer, or Electronics Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in systems, modems, RLS LCM, failure analysis, or test engineering within electronics or contract-manufacturing environments.
• Experience participating in team-based automation-focused ATE development environments.
• Experience applying telecom product testing and debugging techniques.
• Experience with C#, Python, TestStand, Lua, PCB schematics, and laboratory test equipment.
• Collaboration experience with contract manufacturers, including Sanmina, Celestica, Flex, USI, and Jabil.

Nice to have

• Experience with electro-optics secure product development and testing.
• Experience with optical modem and Photonics/RLS technologies, including Ramans and optical switches.
• Knowledge of security standards, test protocols, and automated test systems.
• Interest in adopting new technologies to address emerging engineering challenges.
