Senior Software Quality Engineer (Mainframe)

Location: hirify.global Waterloo King, Canada; flexible hybrid work model with in-country work-from-home

Salary: CAD 90,000–140,000 per year, plus potential bonus

What you will do

• Coordinate release regression, end-to-end, integration, and non-functional testing before production deployment.
• Develop detailed mainframe test cases with internal teams to validate business logic and identify defects.
• Define test data, environment requirements, and entry and exit criteria with architects, business, and IT stakeholders.
• Coordinate testing across cross-functional Agile teams and remove testing-related roadblocks.
• Communicate quality status, test results, risks, issues, and program impact to QE management and stakeholders.
• Establish effective automation, regression, processes, tools, and continuous improvement practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience leading large or complex multidisciplinary initiatives.
• University degree or college diploma with progressive Quality Engineering experience.
• Experience testing mainframe applications, including JCL, CICS, batch jobs, DB2 database testing, functional, non-functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience with QE best practices, test automation frameworks and tools such as Tosca and ReadyAPI, and test management tools such as qTest.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps, Jira, Confluence, and leading or mentoring QE members.
• Strong organizational, leadership, communication, problem-solving, vendor management, and independent working skills; financial services or insurance experience is required.
