Software Developer in Test, Intern (Genesys Cloud)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work with attendance at the downtown Toronto office 1–2 days per week. Internship/co-op terms run for 8–16 months beginning in May or June 2027.

What you will do

• Contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of full-stack cloud software.
• Develop and maintain automated tests to expand coverage and improve confidence in production releases.
• Build and enhance automated test pipelines for reliable and repeatable software delivery.
• Test and validate resilient, scalable, secure, and maintainable AWS applications.
• Investigate software issues, debug failures, and collaborate with developers and quality engineering partners on root-cause analysis.
• Participate in design discussions, identify quality risks, and apply modern testing and engineering approaches.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Familiarity with Java, Kotlin, Python, or a comparable modern programming language.
• Familiarity with Jenkins, CI/CD concepts, automated test execution, test design, debugging, and automated testing.
• Understanding of software development fundamentals, agile practices, and the software development lifecycle.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Working knowledge of AI concepts and AI-powered development tools, with interest in applying them to testing and engineering workflows.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Selenium or Playwright.
• Familiarity with AWS and cloud computing concepts.
• Experience with Git, source control, code review, and modern development workflows.
• Interest in learning new programming languages, testing approaches, and cloud technologies.
