Electrical Engineer II (Home Security)

Location: Boston, MA, United States; hybrid work with two core office days per week, typically Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Travel to manufacturing partners in China 1–3 times per year is required.

Annual base pay: $84,900–$113,200.

What you will do

• Contribute to the full lifecycle design of security-focused products from concept through production.
• Support product architecture and system-level design while balancing performance, cost, schedule, risk, complexity, and scalability.
• Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, industrial design, sourcing, product management, suppliers, and global manufacturing partners.
• Develop prototypes and execute validation testing across electrical, RF, connectivity, audio, and imaging subsystems.
• Participate in design reviews, manufacturing optimization, technical requirements development, and risk mitigation.
• Translate system requirements into detailed tasks and drive assigned workstreams forward.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of relevant industry experience, ideally with exposure to consumer products.
• Experience contributing to complex system design from concept toward mass production.
• Knowledge of low-power, battery-operated design and embedded systems using interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, SDIO, and MIPI.
• Familiarity with RF technologies including Sub-GHz, WiFi, and BLE.
• Ability to work as both a systems-level and hands-on technical contributor.
