Manufacturing Engineer Manager-Systems, Electronics & Test Fixtures (Robotics)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; fully onsite. The role may require up to 10% domestic and/or international travel.

Salary: $118,000–$179,655 per year.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, prioritize, and develop a team of manufacturing engineers while contributing hands-on technically.
• Lead systems manufacturing deliverables across NPI, sustaining programs, validation, reliability testing, repair, rework, and production support.
• Provide technical guidance on electronics, PCB/PCBA, wiring, harnesses, sensors, controllers, test equipment, and electromechanical fixtures.
• Drive manufacturing documentation, MPIs, rework instructions, test procedures, validations, process updates, and audit readiness.
• Partner with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Service, Operations, PMO, Supplier Quality, and other stakeholders on manufacturing and capital equipment requirements.
• Improve manufacturing readiness and execution efficiency through continuous improvement, component upgrades, knowledge sharing, and cross-training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience and 2+ years leading and developing teams.
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing, systems, equipment, test, electrical engineering, electronics, PCBA, electromechanical systems, or manufacturing test equipment.
• Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, PCB layouts, test procedures, and equipment documentation.
• Experience with manufacturing processes, validation, documentation control, quality systems, regulated products, SPC, and statistical procedures.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP, Jira, Minitab, standard costs, and work standards management in SAP.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent engineering experience.
• Medical device manufacturing or other regulated-industry experience.
• Experience with robotic systems, capital equipment, test equipment, repair/rework, manufacturing fixtures, board-level modifications, and test development.
• Knowledge of sensors, motors, power supplies, controllers, cabling, harnesses, pneumatic systems, data acquisition, fixture automation, ETQ, Agile, Box, or Maximo.
