Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack (Enabling Plan and Benefits Data)

Location: Remote, but must be based in California, Oregon, or Washington

What you will do

• Own and evolve data pipelines that ingest provider, benefits, and pricing data into Snowflake and deliver it to third-party consumers through SFTP.
• Design and maintain integrations with external data providers, handling schema drift, malformed data, and partner-specific requirements.
• Build internal tools that automate high-volume operational workflows, including pricing adjustments for benefit amounts.
• Process and reconcile large medical provider datasets with strong data quality, lineage, and auditability.
• Set technical direction for data infrastructure, integration patterns, reliability, observability, and testing.
• Mentor engineers, review designs, resolve complex technical issues, and partner with product, operations, and pricing stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of data-intensive production systems.
• Deep experience building and operating large-scale data pipelines covering ingestion, transformation, and delivery; Snowflake experience is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with third-party integrations and unreliable or inconsistent external data.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, data modeling, and modern data-processing architecture.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, including setting direction, unblocking engineers, and influencing without direct authority.
• Fluent use of AI-assisted tooling with rigorous verification of correctness, security, and quality.

Nice to have

• Experience with healthcare data such as provider directories, NPI, claims, fee schedules, or benefits data.
• Familiarity with Airflow, dbt, Step Functions, or other workflow orchestration tools.
