Senior Manufacturing Scientist (Immunoassay/Protein Purification)

Location: On-site in Chaska, Minnesota, United States

Annual salary: $85,000–$115,000, plus potential bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Provide technical expertise across Immunoassay manufacturing areas, primarily the protein purification work cell.
• Lead cross-functional investigations and resolve non-conforming issues for existing products.
• Investigate assay failures during in-process, pre-fill, and post-fill reagent testing.
• Assess manufacturing processes and implement improvements focused on performance, quality, and cost.
• Update bills of materials, material specifications, SOPs, and other technical documentation.
• Communicate investigation findings, recommendations, and implementation plans through written and oral reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, chemistry, biology, or a related field with 5+ years of industry experience; or a master’s degree with 3+ years of industry experience; or a doctoral degree.
• Strong technical understanding of biochemical and immunoassay processes, including data analysis and interpretation.
• Subject matter expertise in protein purification techniques.
• In-depth knowledge of chromatography methods, including affinity, ion exchange, and size exclusion.
• Experience with analytical methods such as HPLC, UPLC, IEP, IEF, and SDS-PAGE.
• Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment weighing up to 50 lb.

• Experience in a regulated industry such as FDA- or ISO-regulated environments.
• Project management experience.
• Experience manufacturing biological or pharmaceutical products.
• Validation or verification experience.
