Unit Head Analytical Sciences (Biopharma)

Location: Swiftwater, Pennsylvania, United States. This is an onsite role for US and Puerto Rico residents.

Salary: $122,250–$176,583.33 per year.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 30 analytical scientists.
• Provide technical guidance on analytical method development, qualification, validation, transfer, testing, troubleshooting, and investigations.
• Oversee laboratory operations, analytical data review, technical documentation, quality systems, SOPs, safety protocols, and GMP compliance.
• Manage laboratory budgets, resources, capital equipment planning, operational metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop the platform’s strategic vision, identify capability and technology investments, and support business development and project planning.
• Build cross-functional partnerships with quality assurance, regulatory affairs, internal stakeholders, and external collaborators.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in life sciences, chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, molecular biology, biophysics, immunology, or a related discipline.
• Industry experience is required, with 6 years for Bachelor’s holders, 4 years for Master’s holders, or 2 years for PhD holders in scientific research, laboratory operations, or related laboratory environments.
• Experience with analytical method development and testing, as well as people management and team development.
• Hands-on experience with techniques such as HPLC, LC-MS, spectroscopy, DLS, DSC, SPR, BLI, sequencing, or PCR.
• Broad expertise across biochemistry, biophysics, immunology, and/or molecular biology is required for the platform.
• Applicants must be US and Puerto Rico residents.
