Sr. Infrastructure Engineer - Patching

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain reusable patch automation for Windows, Linux, JBoss, Oracle Database, MQ, and related infrastructure.
• Develop orchestration for discovery, eligibility checks, dependency validation, service draining, patch deployment, controlled restarts, health verification, and rollback decisions.
• Integrate patching workflows with vulnerability management, CMDB, ITSM, change management, monitoring, virtualization, cloud, and observability platforms.
• Translate vulnerability severity, exploitability, asset criticality, and maintenance policies into risk-informed patch execution strategies.
• Create telemetry, dashboards, compliance metrics, failure analysis, and post-patch reporting while driving root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Partner with infrastructure, application, database, middleware, and security teams to standardize resilient, low-touch patching services.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building and supporting patch automation for servers, operating systems, middleware, databases, and supporting infrastructure.
• Strong experience with Ansible Automation Platform, reusable automation content, source control, CI/CD, and secure integration patterns.
• Proficiency with PowerShell, Python, Bash, APIs, Git workflows, infrastructure-as-code, secrets handling, inventory design, and environment promotion.
• Experience with tools such as Red Hat Satellite, Windows patching solutions, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and middleware administration.
• Ability to design reliable automation with idempotency, retry logic, concurrency controls, observability, guardrails, and rollback strategies.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and hold a valid work or study permit where applicable.
