Cybersecurity Systems Administrator II (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Design, configure, and enhance cybersecurity systems, applications, and supporting infrastructure.
• Analyze functional, integration, security, scalability, and performance requirements and recommend implementation approaches.
• Provide Tier 2 operational support, troubleshoot production issues, patch systems and applications, and maintain support processes.
• Build customized tools, technical specifications, proof-of-concept environments, and systems documentation.
• Coordinate with IT teams, faculties, departments, vendors, and stakeholders on implementation and technical compatibility.
• Prepare training materials, train staff, and provide guidance to less experienced analysts.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and at least five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Expertise troubleshooting Linux, Windows, virtual machines, VMware, and libvirt; experience with Windows Server and Linux distributions is required.
• Experience with patching and vulnerability management, including CVEs, CVSS, CPE, vulnerability mitigation, false-positive analysis, EPSS, and threat intelligence.
• Experience supporting databases, networking services, load balancers, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
• Technical experience with tools and technologies including Python, PHP, Java, Shell, Apache, NGINX, Tomcat, OIDC, SAML, HTTP, TLS, x509, JSON, YAML, XML, Nessus Professional, CrowdStrike Spotlight, and Nucleus.
• Ability to document technical systems clearly, communicate effectively, solve complex operational problems, and work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Experience with Puppet, Ansible, Salt, Chef, Terraform, Nomad, Elastic products, Hadoop, Spark, Redis, and Kafka.
• Knowledge of Git-based workflows, application development and implementation practices, and higher-education IT environments.
• Experience planning, organizing, monitoring, and evaluating projects within allocated resources.
