Senior Engineer - Access Entitlements

Location: British Columbia, Canada

Compensation range: $162,300–$301,400 CAD total target compensation, including base pay and performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Build and extend connectors that discover identities and resource-level permissions across on-premises file shares, Active Directory, SharePoint, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365.
• Design concurrent entitlement pipelines with batching, checkpointing, pause/resume support, and recovery without data loss or duplication.
• Normalize connector output into entitlement records and identity-graph structures representing principals, resources, permissions, sharing links, and inherited access.
• Work across Elasticsearch, Databricks/Delta, and an AWS Neptune-backed graph to support search, analytical joins, and relationship queries.
• Build pipelines that correlate static entitlements with activity logs for over-permission detection and access-risk scoring.
• Test and instrument systems for partial scans, malformed ACLs, race conditions, and inconsistent state across data stores.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including identity and access systems, security data pipelines, or large-scale distributed data processing.
• Strong skills in Go, Java, or Python and direct experience with concurrent or parallel data pipelines.
• Experience with graph databases or query languages such as Gremlin or Cypher.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch and at least one large-scale analytical store such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Understanding of RBAC, ACLs, and group membership.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Graph API, SharePoint REST APIs, Active Directory, or LDAP-based identity systems.
• Experience with AWS Neptune, TinkerPop/Gremlin, or other production-scale graph databases.
• Background in DSPM, CIEM, IAM governance, or data security posture tooling.
• Experience designing multi-tenant systems with per-tenant data isolation across search, analytical, and graph stores.
