Functional Development Engineer (Hydrogen Energy Systems)

What you will do

• Develop operating strategies and functional concepts for hydrogen energy systems and electrified powertrain applications.
• Define system functions, operating modes, state-machine logic, sensor requirements, and actuator requirements.
• Develop diagnostics, monitoring, fault-management, and safe-state concepts.
• Support functional decomposition, interface definition, and functional architecture development.
• Maintain requirements traceability and contribute to verification and validation planning.
• Support functional integration and collaborate with system, software, and testing teams throughout development.

Requirements

• Master’s or engineering degree in Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Experience in functional development, systems engineering, or control-systems development.
• Knowledge of requirements engineering, specification development, system architecture, and interface management.
• Experience with MBSE/SysML and requirements-management tools such as DOORS, Polarion, or Codebeamer.
• Knowledge of Functional Safety and ISO 26262, plus experience with FMEA and HAZOP.
• Fluency in English is required for the international engineering environment. Experience with fuel-cell, hydrogen, battery, or energy-systems development is required.
