Acoustic Engineer (EE)

Location: Suzhou, China; full-time onsite role.

What you will do

• Select acoustic components such as microphones and speakers and evaluate and optimize their performance parameters.
• Lead acoustic system design for products such as keyboards, including system debugging, acoustic testing, simulation, and sound-quality improvement.
• Define preliminary acoustic design specifications, product testing specifications, and technical requirements for new product development.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers on audio components, chips, circuit designs, acoustic chambers, and acoustic algorithms.
• Analyze and resolve distortion, background noise, and other electronic-system issues while communicating with algorithm and chip suppliers.
• Support the full product lifecycle from project initiation through mass production, including design reviews, production-line support, acoustic anomaly resolution, and evaluation of new acoustic technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Acoustics, Physics, Electronics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of acoustic design experience, or at least 3 years with a Master’s degree.
• Proficiency in acoustic design, validation, and application for microphones and speakers, including FR, sensitivity, THD, SNR, AOP, sealing, coupling, and vibration.
• Experience with digital signal processing, including beamforming, echo cancellation, noise suppression, AGC, and microphone algorithm tuning.
• Familiarity with telecom standards such as TIA, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom, and knowledge of voice-recognition testing such as Amazon AVS and Google GVA.
• Expertise in subjective and objective testing and evaluation of audio products, including speakers and earphones.
• Proficiency with acoustic analysis and debugging tools such as MATLAB and Adobe Audition.
• Skill with audio test equipment including ACQUA, Soundcheck, AP, GRAS, and B&K.
• Knowledge of DSP signal processing, embedded systems, SoC and DSP chips, audio performance metrics, microphone and speaker design, voice-system debugging, industry-standard materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency with ProE, CAD, Office, Minitab, Klippel, and Soundcheck; ability to collaborate with cross-cultural suppliers and ODMs; fluent verbal English for technical discussions.

• Experience with Bluetooth speakers or earphones.
