Senior Technical Product Manager, API Traffic and Enforcement (API)

Location: Hybrid near a local office is strongly preferred; remote candidates may be considered within the United States. Preferred locations are San Francisco, CA; New York, NY; and Denver, CO. Core business hours availability and role-related travel may be required.

Salary: $181,220–$217,464 per year, with potential equity and discretionary bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Own the strategy and roadmap for defining and enforcing allowed API traffic across discovery, inventory, schemas, gateways, and request-path controls.
• Lead API discovery and inventory so customers can understand the API surfaces they operate.
• Own schema definition, generation, validation, and drift management as APIs evolve.
• Develop reusable enforcement primitives including ACLs, allowlists, rate limiting, and gateway controls.
• Define how AI agents and MCP servers are identified, authorized, and constrained to allowed behavior.
• Form evidence-based product positions and drive decisions across engineering, product, and partner teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of product management or technical product leadership experience, ideally with API, security, or platform infrastructure products.
• Strong understanding of API traffic description, validation, schemas, specifications, gateway behavior, and allowlist models.
• Experience building shared platform capabilities, enforcement points, or controls used by multiple products or teams.
• Hands-on execution experience in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to engineers, customers, executives, and cross-functional partners.
• Availability during core business hours and ability to work within the United States for remote work.

Nice to have

• Experience with API gateways, OpenAPI-driven validation, schema generation from live traffic, and API drift detection.
• Knowledge of SPIFFE/WIMSE, mTLS, OAuth 2.1, MCP, and agent authorization specifications.
• Experience with WASM filters, eBPF, OPA, Rego, or request-path enforcement at scale.
• Startup or 0-to-1 experience building API, security, or infrastructure products.
