About the Role

You will design, synthesize, test, and scale catalyst formulations for high-temperature reactors. You will operate bench-scale reactors, characterize materials and degradation, analyze experimental data, document results, maintain formulation records, and collaborate on reactor, coating, and system-integration requirements.

Requirements

• Be a B.S. or M.S. candidate in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
• Have hands-on chemical synthesis and wet-lab experience
• Understand reaction kinetics, heat transfer, and mass transport
• Plan, document, and execute experiments and apply statistical analysis
• Follow safe laboratory practices for chemicals, high-temperature furnaces, and compressed gases
• Communicate results effectively in writing and verbally

Responsibilities

• Synthesize novel catalyst formulations, including supports, active phases, and precursor solutions
• Operate bench-scale test reactors and track catalyst activity, selectivity, and stability
• Scale promising formulations for coating large catalyst substrates
• Develop scalable manufacturing techniques with external partners
• Use characterization techniques to understand materials and degradation mechanisms
• Collaborate on reactor design, coatings, and system integration requirements
• Develop and execute catalyst synthesis plans, hypotheses, variables, and experiments
• Analyze experimental data, prepare reports, and maintain formulation and performance records
