Laboratory Technician (Molecular and Cell Biology)

Location: Onsite in Lincoln, Nebraska; local candidates only

Salary: $20.50/hour, with performance-based increases over time.

What you will do

• Process and extract biological samples, including blood, urine, plasma, and feces, manually and through automation.
• Prepare solutions and reagents for laboratory testing.
• Record and document test data in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems.
• Support PBMC harvesting and processing.
• Perform analytical work supporting flow cytometry and PCR analysis.
• Complete precise, repetitive laboratory tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Requirements

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree, or at least two years of coursework, in microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or a related field.
• Experience using sterile technique in a biosafety cabinet.
• Strong pipetting experience; typically 2–3 hours of pipetting per day and occasionally up to 8 hours.
• Basic computer skills; data entry accounts for approximately 50% of each shift.
• Strong attention to detail and self-motivation.
• Availability must be flexible as schedules may include evening and weekend shifts after training.

Nice to have

• Good laboratory practice (GLP) experience.
