Lead Engineer (Solana)

Location: Remote-US or Remote-Europe

A non-profit foundation based in Zug, Switzerland, focused on the adoption, decentralization, and security of the Solana network.

What you will do

• Own the technical direction and end-to-end delivery of Frontier Traders, from onchain data ingestion to trader-facing interfaces.
• Build and scale pipelines that attribute spot and perpetuals volume across Solana venues, normalizing fills, wallets, and accounts.
• Design and operate rewards, campaigns, points, prize pools, leaderboards, VIP tiers, and rebate calculations.
• Ship accurate, responsive realtime experiences for activity feeds, leaderboards, and tier progression.
• Own integrations with DEXs, perpetuals venues, launchpads, wallets, and data providers as their systems evolve.
• Set standards for architecture, code quality, testing, observability, incident response, and build-versus-integrate decisions.

Requirements

• Track record of building and shipping products end to end with clear personal ownership.
• Strong engineering fundamentals across the stack and technical proficiency in Rust or other performant programming languages.
• Experience with high-volume data pipelines, indexing, or realtime systems where accuracy and latency matter.
• Experience building financial or transactional products, plus working knowledge of Solana accounts, transactions, program interactions, and reliable offchain data extraction.
• Familiarity with DeFi market structure, including spot and perpetuals venues, AMMs, order books, maker and taker dynamics, fees, and rebates.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working with ambiguity, limited process, demanding external users, and evolving priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience building for traders, market makers, or HFT firms.
• Experience with points, rewards, loyalty, or incentive systems at scale, including adversarial design considerations.
• Hands-on experience with Helius, Pyth, Geyser plugins, custom Solana indexers, or similar data infrastructure.
• Open source contributions to Solana or DeFi tooling.
• Personal experience trading onchain and strong opinions about trading products.
