Director, European Health Data Space (EHDS) Programme Management

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days onsite weekly, in Beerse, Belgium; Leiden, the Netherlands; High Wycombe/Maidenhead, UK; Allschwil, Switzerland; or Spring House, Titusville, or Raritan, United States. Remote work may be considered case by case with company approval.

What you will do

• Set the EHDS programme strategy, integrated delivery approach, roadmap, milestones, and success measures.
• Lead execution across regulation monitoring, operating model design, technology enablement, data inventory and cataloging, change management, and governance.
• Establish decision rights, escalation pathways, reporting, and management of risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, and decisions.
• Align senior stakeholders across Global Development, Legal, Privacy, Regulatory Affairs, Technology, Data Transparency, MedTech, and other functions.
• Direct resource planning, external vendor and advisor relationships, programme performance, executive reporting, and transition to sustainable internal ownership.
• Represent the organisation with external bodies, industry groups, and partners, and build sustainable programme management methods and capabilities.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in a scientific, technology, healthcare, or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of relevant pharmaceutical, healthcare, technology, or scientific experience, including leadership of large, complex, cross-functional programmes.
• Expertise in programme and portfolio management, integrated planning, risk and dependency management, resource planning, change, executive reporting, and decision governance.
• Experience setting programme direction, establishing governance, and delivering outcomes in a global matrix environment.
• Working knowledge of the EU regulatory environment and data obligations; familiarity with EHDS, GDPR, clinical trial transparency, data governance, or regulated technology implementation is strongly preferred.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders, leading people or multidisciplinary teams, and translating regulatory and technical complexity into clear decisions and plans.

Nice to have

• Project or programme management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or SAFe.
• Experience with advanced analytics, database management, data privacy standards, data security, data stewardship, or emerging technologies.
