Analyst, Hilco Diligence (Financial Due Diligence)

Location: Chicago, IL, United States; travel up to 50%, primarily within North America, with periodic international travel

Annual base salary: $85,000–$110,000 gross

What you will do

• Conduct financial due diligence, field examinations, and specified procedures for asset-based financing and M&A transactions.
• Interview management and analyze accounts receivable, inventory, trade payables, and other financial and operational information.
• Evaluate receivables and inventory controls, collateral quality, and financial performance metrics.
• Inspect inventory and facilities across retail, wholesale, and manufacturing businesses.
• Prepare clear findings and collaborate with lenders, investors, advisors, clients, and internal project teams.
• Experienced candidates may lead project teams, coordinate workstreams, manage deadlines, and mentor less experienced staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• At least two years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, audit, transaction advisory, commercial lending, or a related field.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements, quantitative and analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and client communication skills, with sound judgment and ethical integrity.
• Ability to collaborate across project teams, work under demanding deadlines, and travel up to 50%.

Nice to have

• Accounting degree or CPA credential.
• Experience with data-analysis tools.
• Experience in manufacturing, retail, transaction services, commercial lending, public accounting, or a related industry.
